What One Man Sacrificed for His Entire Community to Get Water

This story from El Salvador reminds us that we all have something we can give to make our world better.

Why You Won’t Want To Miss Living Water’s 2019 Gala

Living Water International’s annual gala is exactly a month away, and we could not be more excited! This year’s theme, Arise, will celebrate the immediate and long-term impact that water, for life, in Jesus’ name has across the globe.

When God’s people rise up to share safe water and the love of Jesus with the thirsty, we can save lives, restore health, mobilize churches, empower women and families, and give communities hope for a brighter future.

Our teams are hard at work finalizing all of the details, but I wanted to give you a sneak peek on some of the highlights that you can expect to see at Arise.

Immersive Pre-Gala Reception

We are revamping our pre-gala reception to provide you with more hands-on experiences and opportunities to engage with our global staff. Upon arriving, you will receive a passport, which will guide you through our various exhibits in the reception.

This year, we’ve added new regional stations, where you will have the opportunity to sample tastings from countries where we work, travel to communities via virtual reality, and meet our inspiring international staff. We will also have our popular Water Walk, where you can experience what it is like to bear the burden of the water crisis.

The Main Event

Our evening will start with a message from our gala chairs, Houston philanthropists Terry and Doris Looper. Throughout the evening, over a three-course meal, you’ll watch inspiring videos of people whose lives have been changed through the generosity of friends like you.

Our main highlight will be moving speeches from our international field staff. One of our key speakers this year is Moreen Katugume from southwestern Uganda. This will be Moreen’s first time in the United States! She’ll share a moving story about growing up in the midst of her family’s water crisis, defeating the odds to become an engineer, and dedicating her career to serving the thirsty in Uganda.

This will be a night you won’t want to miss!
