CONVERSATIONS
Talking to kids about the global water crisis can seem like, well, a lot. The last thing you want to do is overwhelm them. We get it!
That’s why we hope this conversation between Jonathan and his son, Noble, inspires you to share a moment like this with the little ones in your life, too.
Because children aren’t just impacted by the water crisis—they’re also a vital part of its solution!
When Talking to Kids About the Water Crisis:
- Keep it simple: Keep it simple and age-appropriate by using straightforward explanations and avoiding overwhelming them with too many details or numbers.
- Stay solution-focused: Don’t shy away from the reality of the crisis, but remain solution-focused, always highlighting how God is at work!
- Use visual aids: Maps, pictures, and videos can help children understand the scope of the water crisis and its impact.
- Empower them: Hands-on activities can help children feel like they’re making a real difference in the lives of others! Encourage them to think about ways they can help–it can even be as simple and impactful as praying for kids lacking safe water.
Note: These tips were intended for children five years and up.
