Despite strides made toward ending Honduras’ long standing water crisis, in November of 2024, Tropical Storm Sara affected or damaged WASH systems for over 238,500 people.
According to the latest data from WHO/UNICEF, only 53% of Hondurans have access to safely managed sanitation services.
About 35% of Hondurans—more than one third of the population—still lacks access to basic drinking water.
