Ebola Update: Sanitation Facility in Progress

by: Sara Banks
October 17, 2014

In addition to clean water, proper hygiene and sanitation are critical in the fight against Ebola. As part of their response to this crisis, Living Water Sierra Leone is revising its operational strategy to aid the most critical locations first. In the Western Area Rural District, this meant building an institutional sanitation facility at the Waterloo Community Health Center. Previously this hospital did not have an adequate toilet facility to cater for its patients. This was posing a risk to the health of the patients and the staff.

This new toilet facility will drastically improve the level of hygiene and sanitation at the health center—aiding further to the prevention and treatment of Ebola and other illnesses. Your help is needed in projects like these. Visit to make a donation and see additional updates from our field staff in Sierra Leone and Liberia.
