Lack of safe water access keeps kids out of school, endangers their lives, and limits their potential.

In Chipata, Zambia, Jennifer and her students at Mtizwa Primary and Secondary School faced urgent challenges due to a lack of safe water. They walked long distances to a nearby stream, risking their health and future with every sip of contaminated water. Deprived of safe water, students frequently fell ill, missed school, and struggled to keep up.

Since October 2023, Zambia has been battling its worst cholera outbreak in decades. As of March 2023, the country had reported over 22,000 cases.

Without the burden of hours wasted collecting dirty water, children like Jennifer’s students can focus on their education, improving their health and futures.
