Living Water’s work in Nicaragua began in 2004. Since that time our established team of trained nationals has brought clean water to hundreds of communities through a combination of new wells and rehabilitation of existing water points. In 2015, we launched the first Nicaragua WASH Program Area (WPA) in Tola.
Much of the work in Nicaragua is completed with the participation of our short-term trip teams, who come to experience the water crisis firsthand, serving alongside our local staff to drill a well, teach hygiene lessons, and share the love of Christ. In 2016, 80 volunteer teams are scheduled to travel to León and Rivas Nicaragua to engage in this life-giving opportunity.
